| 1) What is the name of your band? Milemarker > 2) How did it get that name? We decided to call it this, in reference to our desire to travel. > 3) How would you describe your music? Epic and sprawling at times, cold and distant and others. > 4) Who is in the band and what do they play? Dave Laney-guitar, vocals Al Burian-bass, vocals Roby Newton-synth, vocals Noah Leger-drums > 5) What is the scene like in your community? Supportive, independent, and important. > 6) Who are the bands influences? We listen to many things, from Johnny Cash to Coltrane to Rites of Spring to Public Enemy to Black Sabbath to Kraftwerk to... > 8) How many groupies does the band have? In which country? > 9) Have any members of the band had problems with heroin? All members have had problems with heroin. We have problems with heroin every time we have a friend who dies from it, who goes into rehab for it, or who does it. Since you ask the question, you probably don't know any people who have had problems with it. If you did, you surely wouldn't turn it into an adolescent joke for some kid to read in a magazine. I believe it to be one of the most inane things to joke about. > > 10) How many pills do you take with your alcohol? Come on... > 11) What is your favorite drink? Orange juice. > > > 12) Do you smoke weed? No. > > > 13) Do you skateboard? Not anymore. > > 14) What do you think of skating these days? I think it's mainly a commodity-diven industry like any other and the kids that are buying in are unable to see beyond the bullshit trends that young venture capitalist are throwing at them to eat up. People are more into the style and the new boards and video games than they are into what it actually meant to skate when Lance Mountain, Chistian Hosoi, Tony Hawk and Gator were in their prime. And that is exactly the antithesis of what skateboarding meant to me when I started doing it in 1983. > . > 15) How many tours have you been on? We've toured Japan, Europe, Canada and the US. We've played roughly 700 shows. > > 16) Have you played with any big acts? Yes. > > 17) Will you ever sell out? Sell out of what? > > 18) How old are you? Our average age is 27. > > 19) Any advice on how to pick up on chicks? Sure, don't take advice out of magazines. > > 20) Do you like Kid Rock? No. > . > 21) Do you have any questions you壇 like to ask yourself? Sure, I do it all the time. > > 22) Are there any up and coming bands you壇 like to > mention? > > 23) Have you ever been to Cheyenne, WY? Yes, we were on the way somewhere else and stopped for breakfast. A kid next to us was listening to Fugazi so we followed him and stopped him. He told it was depressing there. We ate and left. > 24) Have you ever heard of a band called FELT? No. > 25) How many people usually attend your shows? Depends on the city. > 26) What did you think of the magazine? Never seen it. > 27) What song would you like to have played at your funeral? I don't think in those terms. > 28) Have you ever been in any fights? Yes. > 29) Have you shows ever caused a riot? No. > 30) Have any kids been killed at your shows? What is the closest that has > come to happening? No. > 31) Famous Last Words? How would you recommend people get a > hold of you? Milemarker.org |
