The Palm Beach casino, situated in London's Mayfair district, is one of the remaining casinos that insist on a high dress code that includes jacket & tie for men, although there is no longer a membership fee payable.
The casino chips are also unusual in that there is a large variety of different coloured �5 chips - all red, but with different foil centres (there may be others in addition to those shown above). These chips are red, but the plastic used in these (and some other) BG chips absorbs light when being scanned and the colour in these scans is not true (other examples are from the Victoria and London Park Tower casinos).
The Palm Beach also uses �10 chips which can be found in several London casinos which also have �10 table minimums for blackjack.
The Palm Beach has been taken over by Stanley Casinos in 2003 from London Clubs International who had been looking to reduce their debt following their investment in the Aladdin Casino in Las Vegas. The chips remain unchanged (as at August 2003).
