WHAT IS A KINDERKEN ?       The Kinderken are a science minded dad and three inquisitive kids who do ''science stuff.'' We do experiments, make observations, take notes in a notebook and neatly enter what we find in ink into a bound scientific journal. We date and sign each entry.       Kinderken is a portmanteau, polyglot imaginary word. Kinder is from the German kinder meaning a child. Ken is from the Scottish ken meaning to know or to understand. Loosely interpreted it could be a kid who knows . An even looser interpretation would be those darn smart kids who learn real fast, ask hard questions and think they know it all!       Adam is age 10. Ethan and Kendra are twins age 8 . But, in fact, a Kinderken is anyone, child or adult, who actively interacts with the world. A Kinderken is anyone who recognizes that even the most revered sacred cow of worldly wisdom or scientific belief is fair game for the question, "WHY IS THAT?"
