Va.Crt Order Bk 13 p.140 27 Nov 1777 Ordered that John Harris, Wooten Harris, Benjamin Harris, Elizabeth Harris and Mary Harris orphans of Isaac Harris dec'd be bound out by the church warden of Meherrin Parish according to law. (3)RELATIONSHIPS: Ltr dtd 22 Apr 1858 from Benjamin F Harris to William Jasper Harris his nephew giving a brief account of his fathers ancestory. "Your great grandfather was a Virginian by birth, and was born about 1760 or thereabouts, BENJAMIN HARRIS by name, his parents dying when young. He was the fourth son namely: John, William, Wooten, and there were two younger sons Reuben and Zachariah." He also names Rutha Byers as Benjamin Harris's wife. (Portrait & Biographical Record of IL p. 482) SS Sub Jan 95 PROVOFor many years the only information we had on Benjamin Harris was that he was "OF PENDLETON DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA." Today I have copied a Family Group Sheet apparently prepared by my cousind Don C. Corbett before he died, and which I have not seen in all the years I have attempted to research this line. After Don's death, I was unable to obtain any of the records he had prepared, though he and I had corresponded about working to obtain family support to publish his book about William Jasper Harris, Sr. plus other family records. I hope to locate the current keeper of these records and attempt to get the manuscript together to be published in some form at least to give credit to the huge amount of research and effort Cousin Don C.
