Lasiurus borealis (the eastern red-bat) is a tree roosting species that inhabits forests of the eastern US and southeastern Canada.
Nycticeius humeralis (the evening bat) is also a tree roosting speices, but its distribution is limited to the southeastern US.
Mist nets are set to capture bats as they dive to get a drink of water.
Didelphis virginiana (virginia opossum) is the only marsupial found in the US.
