More
Than You Would Do
I an arm or eye would gladly give,
And hapless heart yield blindly too
For you that you may happily live.
But this is more than you would do.
Endeavor I to endure each trial
Beset, and though besieged not rue
If on your gaze put just one smile.
But this is more than you would do.
I could regard gain and fortune make,
But if would affection thus ensue,
Gladly would this pleasant path forsake.
But this is more than you would do.
Leave you my heart morose and week,
But I, allegiant love remain to you-
For ever always will you I seek.
But this is more than you would do.
One hundred thousand repugnant things
I will engage and so do gladly too
That may amative now to me you cling.
But this is more than you would do.
