A Panegyric For Lillian: Part II

Many Badly Things

          Many badly things, remembrance brings,

And put a mind n’ to a tempest state,

But pleasant things in mind to your face clings

Which in mind make badly things abate.

And you and me may amorous be,

And I and you may amorous not,

But when I think upon you fondly,

It seems are all badly things forgot.

My thoughts jealousy make in wealthy Kings

Who without you dwell on badly things!

So in sleep I will dream, and day will trow,

Of you which please my troubled mind so.
