This song as it applies was written for a friend of mine, whom I grew close to. She motivated me to draw, and develop a more artistic side. She also really enjoyed guitar. That explains the "she drew my world" part. She was also a talented writer, and was at a finalist contest for one of her essays. She amazed me as a writer too (the pen/ink references).

I was later torn to hear that she was moving back to her homeland, China, that summer, so before she left, and on my birthday, I sang her a farewell song. I really feel that this was the beginning of me taking writing more seriously, and becoming better at it. Again, I have to give her credit for getting a good thing started.
