Sometimes was a really weird song to write. I wrote it a clear Tuesday afternoon sometime in May 2001. I was so happy, sitting on my couch strumming away. Suddenly words poured out, and they were all sad. I didn't care. I went on and on, finally grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, trying to salvage what I could remember, and what lingered on the tip of my tongue.

It was only after I've written it down, and read what I was saying that I began to cry. I was so sad, and I couldn't figure out why.
