Autumn Leaves

She looks through the magazine
Determines her self-worth
Flips through the photographs
Remembers her birth
And she can't hide behind the glass door
And she's afraid she'll break
Shattered on the floor
She's scribbled herself
A mess out of ink
While books are black and white
She'll read you in the grey

Chorus:
She says
Someday I'll be free
From these autumn leaves
I'll come clean
I'll be free

She fades in morning light just like her dreams
All of which seem worthless
She's useless
She's utterly hopeless
And she cries herself to sleep
In moonlight
Bathed in moon beams
Moon shadows that hang above her bed
And while blue skies wander
There's lightning in her head

Chorus:
She says
Someday I'll be free
From these autumn leaves
I'll come clean
I'll be free

She looks through the magazine
Determines her self-worth
She says

Chorus:
She says
Someday I'll be free
From these autumn leaves
I'll come clean
I'll be free
