Why did you stop lovin' me?
Though I was blind and couldn't see,
How far we'd grown apart,

Now you're gone and I'm alone,
Sittin' by the telephone,
Wishin' I could talk to you,
Even though our love is through.


When we were young we fell in love,
We soared higher than the clouds above,
Our love was all that mattered,
And now its all been shattered.


The first love of my life is past,
I thought my first would be my last,
I guess nothing lasts forever,
Not even stormy weather.


I'll never regret having loved you,
Only that I was such a fool,
What's lost can't be found,
Like a treasure in the ground.


So now I'm gonna make a new start,
Even though you broke my heart,
This time I won't be such a fool,
And maybe my new love won't be like you.
