IHC MANA
This is the branch I am involved with, and I am grateful to the Family & Child Support Services which provide me with respite care when needed. And believe me, with a very active little boy with Down Syndrome - I need it !!
We have a very multi-cultural population in the Mana area and also very caring.
We are starting to see some real progress with community integration, especially with our teenagers, who are better educated & have higher aspirations & better health, than any previous generations of intellectually disabled people.
I see them out & about after school, & participating in community holiday programmes, & it gives me great hope for my sons' future.
I have recently been working with a talented group of teens - we have just got our own website - Mana Stars - No pics yet - but coming soon !!!!
If you would like to know more about the IHC, either their services or how you can help (perhaps as a volunteer), contact your local branch.
The IHC now has a web page I can refer you to -
