And How Personality Type Affects It

Consider first, the fact that each of us hold different sets of preferences. For Example: some of us prefer to write using our right hand, while others prefer their left. Some prefer to cross their left leg over their right while others prefer to cross their right over their left. Now consider how it feels to write with your non-preferred hand, as compared to how it feels to write with your preferred hand. (Try signing your name using both hands!)

Now consider the fact that each of us also has a preferred method delivering information and receiving information. How do you think it would affect you if you received information according to your personal preference. Would this affect your ability to understand that information? Would it increase your level of comprehension? Would it affect how long you retained the information? The answer is a resounding yes. Now, for some it will make more of an impact than others, but each of us is at our optimum when we are allowed to take in and express information according to our preferred method.

Now try and think of a time when you were trying to communicate with someone, but you were seemingly unable to get your point or idea across. Often this happens when one communicates in a manner opposed to the recipients preferred method of communication, and usually the communicators preferred method. Now consider, what would happen if you were able to determine your subject's personality type thereby determining their peferred mode of communication and with it you were able to adapt your method of communication to their preferred mode of communication. How would this impact your ability to get your idea across? Now suppose they were able to reciprocate and do the same for you! Wouldn't communication become much more effective?
