| At first when I started watching this series, I laughed my rear off. My cousin started collecting them, and I regreted that I hadn't noticed them sooner. But as the series progressed, it got much more serious, deadly serious. Two best friends were torn apart by forces that could not be controled. A factor that I relate to, big time. And even today, there are forces in my life that keeps some my friends away. As much as Miaka fought, things kept escalating. And in reality, it was nobody's fault. But one thing I admired about Miaka that she never gave up hope. Deep down inside, she fought for the strength needed to achieve all of her dreams. When the show pulled elements of the chinese zodiac, that was another awesome thing that they did. I only wish real life would be like that.... To enter another world to escape the pain of this one. But in the end she realizes that there's really no place to run to. Her problems just spilled over into reality. There's so many opposing forces out there. And how can you oppose them? | The story revolves around the Chinese Zodiac in the book dimension. There are four kingdoms guarded by four guardian gods. A girl who enters the book becomes one of the four priestesses of the four kingdoms. Her obligation is to gather the seven warriors with each having a constellation symbol of her kingdom, and then summoning her guardian. When summoned the priestess would be granted three wishes. To recognize a particuliar warrior, a symbol would appear on the warriors body when they would become enraged, excited, ect. Their special powers would did appear. The symbol would also reflect the color of their guardian. Wars would break out to be the ruler of the four kingdoms, or of everything known. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Miaka Yuki was with her childhood best friend going to the library after school on one spring afternoon. She went to a vending machine; cause she's always hungry, and dropped a quarter. A red light dazzled away to an unknown corner of the library. It was a dazzling red bird which enshrounded her with it's red light. Yui follows and they both find the book. They enter the book to a place, a place that's exactly like Ancient China. They meet a boy who becomes part of their lives forever. Tamahome. But Yui is wisked away only to read about Miaka's adventures as she meets new friends. Eventually paths separate and because of a misunderstanding trouble begins. Yui begins to hate her. Yui thinks that Miaka forgot about her and that hurts Miaka more. As much hell as she goes through, she never gives up on in reaching Yui. To tell her the truth about all of the lies that Yui was told. Their friendship was started since early childhood. Some things don't die so easily. She orignally became the Priestess of Suzaku for her wishes of Yui, and then Tamahome and her friends. | Yui is best friends with Miaka and was always used to be being better than her. Yui is very smart and popular. But when she was brought into the book and was believed to be raped, she got the darker side of the coin. Nakago saves her and started brainwashing her of how Miaka left her for her new boyfriend Tamahome. That's when she decides to be the Priestess of Seiryu. For her wishes were for Tamahome as well. And so they become enemies not knowing how all of this got started. Why has one wronged the other? And vice versa? Her Kingdom, Kutou was a darker place where it was in a military expansion, trying to take over Konan, Miaka's Kingdom. These two kingdoms have not summoned their guardians yet as they race to find their own warriors to reach universal domination. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Tamahome was a street rat until he met up with two girls dressed in wierd garb. He instantly fell in love with Miaka. He didn't realize it until she left the book for a few months; but for her, it was a few hours. When she returned their feelings were revealed and they became a couple. She had to stay a virgin so she could summon Suzaku. To protect Konan, he offers himself to Kutou. After a ploy Yui devised, (with Nakago's help), he loses his memories and powers and becomes madly in love with Yui. But Yui doesn't feel right about it because she cheated. Hotohori was also in love with Miaka and thus another love triangle. He fights Hotohori and is nearly killed by him. Mitsukake heals him and is returned to normal. His star sign and powers return. Tamahome has a large family since he was from a poor farming village. So he stoled what he could to but food on the table. But when one of the Seiryu Seven kills all of his family; even the children, his star sign changes on his forehead. Because of his anger, his power exponentially multiplies. His power was even eating up his body at that time. Thankfully Miaka kept him in check. Beware when he meets his arch enemy Nagako. They both are unstoppable forces. |
