| My nest boxes are about 12 inches long x 12 inches high by 6 inches wide and are constructed of pine and plywood. They are nothing special to look at but they seem to do the job. The bottom has been moved up to reduce the drop from the front opening. The average drop is about 6 inches. The hinged back door makes it easy to inspect eggs and chicks. The 12 inch length seems to work well and gives the chicks lots of room. |
