| My Dearest of Friends Sitting in my room, my own little space, Reverie of you brings a smile to my face. I think about the times we've spent together, Always wishing it could last forever. Your laughter, your smile, your pain, your strife- It has all become a part of my life. Our bond is unbreakable, And our loyalty: unshakeable. When I come to a time when I think I am lost, You help me find my one true self and not stay tossed. Your love is there, open, for all to see. I always know you're there for me. Through darkness and evil, you're my Northern star. We'll always be together, no matter how far. Eternity couldn't be enough time- it's true- For me to share all my joy with you. So now and forever, and forever again, You will always have my love, my dearest of friends. (Would you believe I wrote this in 7th grade?) |

| Be my window to the world, And show me all that it is not. As with days both bright and cold, Light is all that's got. Will you filter good to me? And hide from me all that's drear, Safe, in you, from life's dark storm Away from all to fear. Help me to see naught but good, And be my only view. I'll see life in you, my dear, Shining love in a world dark-hued. Yet be not glass which reflects all Sent forth right back within, No care at all for what lies out- A refraction trapped and set in sin. But be my window to the world, And show me just beauty. You teach me love and show me light And all the world can be. |
