Our Beloved Camelot

Once upon a time,
In a land so far away,
There was a place called Camelot
We still read about today.
Knights often errant and
Their lovely belovd ladies
Ever roamed about the courts
With an air of gaiety.
Knights of the Round,
Now questing, would banish
Griffins, witches, and the unjust,
So quickly, then, crime vanished.
This place was ruled by a great king,
And his name was Arthur,
But he always knew his life would not
Be a happily ever after.
The necromancer Merlyn
Told him of the things to come-
Even Arthurs mourn`ed death
By the hand of his own son.
This started by the betrayal
Of the evil, lovely Guinever
For with Arthurs very best knight and friend
She had a treacherous love affair.
Do not despair, though,
Of their demise-
Alluring Camelot is
Still in our eyes
A symbol of what could be
And what the future may bring
For Arthur is still called
The Once and Future King.
