Sure you can do anything in this country if you're an adult. Tinker v. Des Moines upheld students' rights to free speech because “students in school as well as out of school are 'persons' under our constitution." So that means we're protected by the constitution (basically the holy text of our country) and entitled to the rights listed in it, right? WRONG. Students are denied freedom of the press while at the same time given freedom of speech. We are denied the rights to a fair trial by our peers when 16 yr olds can be tried as adults by adults, who obviously are not their peers. We are denied equal protection promised under the 14th amendment and snubbed by age restrictions for voting and holding office. And you know what else? We are denied the basic right to life because our parents can choose whether to have doctors revive us or put us on life support or put premature babies in an incubator or kill us before we're born. Freedom? In America? No, not for the children.
