More About My "Ism"
I don't believe in evangelism. And I don't just mean those crazy people you see on tv healing the sick and holding revivals. I don't just mean door-to-door Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons and everybody who would try to convert you. I mean anyone who would push their beliefs and morals upon you for any reason or for no reason.
I believe actions speak louder than words and that you can accomplish bore in the world by being a good Christian than by preaching how good it is to be one. Is anyone in the world really qualified to tell another how to live their life? I don't preach God because I feel that I have a responsibility to better myself as a person and be the best that I can be rather than forcing that on someone else. As the saying goes, "You attract flies easier with honey than with thorns," or something like that. How can some work so hard to convert and to 'save the souls' of others without ever taking a look at the state of their own soul and trying to save their own life?
Man must come to faith and come to God on his own terms; this is why he has free will.
A beautiful subject of many paintings is the depiction of Jesus Christ standing outside a door which has no outside handle. It represents the door to your heart which you can only open from the inside to let him in. He may knock, but he will not nag and push at the door, but it is up to you to recognize this presence and accept him in your heart. No other man can force this on you.
