Ok. I'm starting my thinger on how I think we are all conformists, always have been, and always shall be. First of all, no matter what, it is entirely impossible to be in any way unique. With over 6 billion other media monkeys on this planet, there will ALWAYS be someone else in the world who likes the same music, movies, shows, games, clothes, etc. as you. Now, if you TRY to be different, keep in mind that there are at least a bazillion other people trying to be different, too, so in fact, you're just like them. Moving, you complain about preps all just acting like their favorite stars or just liking something because everyone else does, which may be true in some cases, but isn't necessarily the norm. I'm willing to bet that they just happened to like some band or actor, met someone else who did, too, and formed their whole little "clique" or whatever the hell you wanna call it. Then they all happen to like maybe one different thing but introduced it to their new friends, and they all like it, too. Ok, this may all sound really obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people don't believe it, and refuse to accept that this is the case for every group of friends, no matter their social status or whatever. So, you're like somebody else in some way or another, no matter how much you dislike the fact, and you always will be!
So, moving on...why I think there has never been a single original idea ever: No philosopher, no theologian, no mathematician, nobody has ever come up with something completely original and new. We all know that Columbus or Amerigo or whoever the heck it was didn't "discover" America. It was already there the whole time, and he just followed the ocean across until he saw it. In much the same way, philosophers and theologians and junk all just follow a logical thought process until they see whatever stupid idea it is we love giving them credit for. Just because they did it first doesn't mean anybody else couldn't have, and in many cases, someone probably already had, but hesitated in mentioning it, or got burned at the stake before it could be documented. Who was it that had the cave metaphor for the illusion of reality? Plato or Socrates or somebody crazy like that? Well, anyway, he wasn't the first guy to think of reality being an illusion, he was just the first to use that certain metaphor, and it's not like it's really that ingenious either; people just understand it better thanks to him. What's-his-face Ford didn't invent the stupid assembly line, and that's a fact; he just publicized it. Mr. Math-retarded Einstein's Theory of Relativity doesn't impress me much either. It just makes sense from the logical linking of one thought to another the same way electricity traveled from a kite down a piece of string to a key or whatever-electricity was always there; getting to it was the problem. Of course the first guys to do it get the credit, even though anyone else probably could have done the exact same thing. Anyway, I have to wrap this up now so I can go to class, but perhaps I'll finish it later. Luv y'all much. Bubyez.
