My Gear Reviews
Whatever adventure you are planning, you need gear that preforms as well as you do.  Through my experiences it has been difficult to select the right equiptment based on manufacturer claims for a product.  The only way to be sure that an item is worthy, is for me to test it myself.  I sometimes describe myself as a "Conossuer of fine gear."  Through my many adventures I have had the opportunity to use and form my own opinions about a variety of equipment.  Here are a few products that have served me well.  Feel free to e-mail me any feedback, or questions you may have...
In my everlasting search for the perfect gear for every situation, I have come to the conclusion...

MSR XGK Multi-Fuel Stove
Brunton Optimus Nova Multi-Fuel Stove
The MSR XGK is a great stove because it will burn a wide variety of fuels.  This comes in handy because you never know what will be  available.  It seemed to take a while to prime though, and didn't simmer very well.  It also has two jets that you have to change out to burn different fuels and that is a hassle.
The Brunton Optimus Nova stove is awesome.  It will burn a wide variety of fuels and you don't have to bother with changing the jet for different fuels.  It has to be primed, but seems to be faster than the MSR XGK and simmers very well.  It fold up nicely and has a cool carying case as well.
MSR SweetWater Guardian MicroFilter
The SweetWater filtration system is one of the best that I have used.  I take it on canoe and kayak trips and have had no problem drinking water filtered from the rivers and springs.
Olympus Stylus 410
Oakley M-Frames
The Olympus Stylus is a decent digital camera.  It takes great pictures and has a metal body that protects it well.
The M-Frames are the best tactical eye protection I have used.  The frame itself is very durable and the lenses can be switched out with different colors.  The lenses are ballistic and protect the eyes from projectiles as well as the sun.  I have since upgraded to the magnesium M-Frames and perfer them to the regular M-Frames
Cabelas Cot Organizer
The Cabelas cot organizer is great for storing gear when space is limited.  It can be used hanging from the cot, as shown in the picture, or it can be hung on the wall by the cot too.
Otis Tactical Cleaning System
The Otis System is one of the best tactical cleaning systems on the market.  Its compact size is one of its best features.  It is fast, efficient, easy to use, and comes in a variety of calibers.
Steiner Predetor Ultra-Lights
Blackhawk Industries
X-R.A.P.T.O.R. Pack
These Steiner Predators are awesome.  I like their compactness.  They are very clear and powerful for their size.  I have used them in the rain and had no problems with them
The RAPTOR is a well designed P.  It has plenty of room to cary alot of gear.  One thing that I didn't like about this pack was its weight.  It is so well built that it is bulky when it is empty.  It also needed webbing on the outside for the attachment of molle gear.  It comes with a hydration system, but needs a pouch or something to kep it from sliding around and causing discomfort when full of water..
Silva Ranger Compass (Type 15 CL)
Trijicon Tritium AR-15 / M-16 Sights
These are helpful for night and low light firing.  They stay luminus for 12 years too.
I like the Silva Ranger.  It is easy to use, and for me has proven to be very accurate.  The sighting mirror makes it fast to use and I like that the declination can be set.
Blackhawk Industries S.T.R.I.K.E. M-4 Magazine and 40mm Grenade pouches
These are handy as a pocket on a shirt.  They attach to the Interceptor vest or any other Molle systems and can be used for just about anything...
SureFire 8AX Commander
This is a very bright light.  I like that it is rechargeable.  It charges fast and is compact.
Starkist Tuna Creations and Chicken Packets
What a great idea!  These are great for sticking in your pack.  They aren't so messy because they don't have to be drained.
