Toadies - "Ultimate
Fan DVD"

Length - 1:10:15
This is a compliation of clips from various
sources, ranging from promo videos to live
audience shot concert footage. None of the
source generations are labeled, though some
of the videos have promo information
displayed. None of the videos are in any
order, they are simply separated by menu.
The live shows are also one track, while
there are multiple songs they are not
tracked separately. The first live show
is audience shot, from the left side
of the audience, the video is decent but a
bit blurred, audio is good. Song names are
taken from a setlist shown momentarily,
they seem to be early versions. The second
live show is shot from the audience, around
the middle of the stage. The video is a bit
dark and blurred, and the colors are off.
Video quality for that one is a bit worse
than the first. The third live show is PRO-
shot and pretty good quality, but there
seems to be some frame-dropping camera
effect. Sound quality is also very good in
that one.
The videos for Mr. Love, Away,
and Backslider are from some sort of promo
videos, the other three were taped off of
MTV.
The quality in the appearances section is
very erratic, mostly pretty bad.
The Alternative Nation segments look to be
from a tape out of MTV rather than taped
from tv, it has segment credits and catalogue
numbers before each starts and is average
quality.
The Fort Worth Fire segment follows the band
around a hockey arena for a little bit while
they kill time, then they play the Star
Spangled Banner. The quality for this is a
bit below average.
The Battle of the Bands footage is EXTREMLY
bad quality in the beginning, and very bad
overall for the video. There are VERY bad
tracking problems that distort nearly half
of the picture through most of it, the audio
is a bit better but still a bit below
average.
The MTV news segment just plays some video
and interview clips and is good quality.
The 120 minutes segment is a bit sub-par on
the video quality, with decent audio. Some
guy plays saxaphone with them.
There is also a pictures section on the DVD,
which is the best looking part of it. The
pictures are very sharp, they display
automatically like a slideshow, no problems
of note.
The menus were a bit quirky with my DVD
player, I don't know if this will happen on
all. It was a bit hard to get the cursor to
where I wanted it, for example pressing
right might move it down one spot, while
pressing down might move it down four (or
do nothing).
