| VERUCA SALT were formed in Chicago, illinois, USA, early 1993 by Nina, Louise, Steve and Nina's brother Jim. In mid 1994 they enjoyed a minor indie hit with debut single, 'Seether' and amid the major label chequebook scramble that followed, opted to remain independent for the 'American Thighs' album later that year. The album was a promising blast of punk-pop/soft-rock. They re-released 'seether' and 'number one blind', and signed to the 'outpost-MCA' imprint for the follow up, 'eight arms..' Nina and Lousie went their seperate ways in 1998/9? Nina left the band & now they're pretty pop. Not listening to them now, but their two albums together were perfect soft-rock, palettable, but not bland, fun & floaty, American Thighs is full of classics, & even now 'Earthcrosser' continues to stand out as a classic from 8 arms.. Their real moments for me, have been & gone unfortunately, but I don't mind occasionally having a blast from the past!. i got into Veruca Salt after seeing them perform at Glastonbury on tv a few years back, a month or so later I bought the 'no 1 blind single' in a sale and thought it was great. For memories sake,(and some music) I still love American Thighs, TOP V.S.
