Who are our heroes?
Students, educators, parents join me in celebrating unsung heroes who are often overlooked in textbooks and classrooms across America.  Despite their lack of glory,  these historical figures are vital to our country's legacy.  I challenge you to research these unsung heroes in your home and classroom.  I have included short bios., classroom activites, web links, and a growing list of heroes for you to explore.  This site is only the beginning of the journey.!  Let me know about  other forgotten heroes, classroom activities,  lesson plans,  and  links so I can add them to the site.

Wax museum:  Have students become an "unsung hero" in your class Wax Museum.  Each student researches their hero and writes a first person speech to memorize for the museum presentation.   In additon have each child dress the part.  This is a very powerful and moving presentation!  Help students to choose their own hero who tried to make the world a better place. The list below is a great start.
