| #1 20010521 I got to Reno in Oct 81, I stayed with my sister and her three sons for over a year. I worked at the Mapes Hotel Casino for a year and two months until it went bankrupt and closed down. I worked as a custodian at Reno High School for slightly over five years. By the Spring of 1987. I had completed another NRI program and Mcgraw-Hill's Comtemporary Electronics. I decided to start designing and building my own hardware. Then on July 3, 1987, while driving my 80 Hatchback, a car pulled in front of me. Both cars were totaled and I came out with permanent damage to my neck and shoulders. No longer did I want to design and build my own hardware. Already since 1981, I had been quitting the idea of being a writer. So I chose to be an artist. I got how-to books and followed them. I got a polaroid camera and took pictures to use as the bases of my paintings. The date and time spoken of eleven years earlier was approaching. (i.e. July 4, 1988, 10:31 am CST) In the aftermath of the car accident, I was undergoing therapy, and had joined Sports West. It was about a mile from where I lived. I would walk over to it along Virginia Lake, and sometimes I would go over in the early Morning. |
