Sifu Doug Jones has studied martial arts for over 20 years. He studied under Sifu Bill Owens in Wun Hop Kuen Do since the age of 12 and transferred under Sifu Al Dacascos in 2004. He received his Black Belt in 1980 and is currently 5th degree in Wun Hop Kuen Do. He grew up training with some of the top national fighters including Bill Owens, Mary Owens, Lionel Seals, Ron Brown and Shon Adams. He has fought against top contenders such as Keith Vitali, John Longstreet, Eddy "Flash" Newman, Ray McCallum, Eddy Solis, Roy Scorpion, Chip Wright, Barry Bordin, Jose Pcheco and Paul Mendoza. In 1994 he was rated #3 in the U.S. National Conference for his division. In addition to studying Wun Hop Kuen Do he studies Arnis, Capoiera and Wu Shu weapon fighting.
