William Wisdom's Will Anson County, North Carolina Will Book 2, page 189 Written: 24 Oct 1801 Probated: Jan Court, 1802

In the name of God, Amen. I, of the County of Anson and state of North Carolina, being through aboundance goodness of God though weak in body yet of sound and perfect understanding and memory do constitute this my last Will and Testament and desire it may be received by all as such.

First, I most humbly bequeath my soul to God, my maker-beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it through the all sufficient of Christ Jesus and my body to be decently buryed. As to my worldly estate, I desire first that all my lawful debts may be paid.

Then, first, bequeath unto my son, THOMAS, twenty shillings and then I bequeath unto my son, CRADDOCK, twenty shillings and then I bequeath unto my daughter, MARY, twenty shillings and likewise my daughter, ELIZABETH, twenty shillings and then I bequeath unto my son, FRANCIS, all the land that lays on the north side of the gum branch and likewise for my son, FRANCIS, to take care of the land that lays on the south side of the gum branch until such time as my son, JOHN, comes of age then to be devided between JOHN and MACGEHEE and then I bequeath unto my daughter, MARTHAY, one boy mare and I bequeath unto my daughter, GENE SARY, one feather bed in furniture and the rest of my estate I bequeath unto my son, FRANCIS. This is my desire I leave FRANCIS WISDOM, my executor. October 24th, 1801. WILLIAM WISDOM. Tested: JOHN CASON, GEORGE CHEWNING.
