| The Gravesite of Yancey Thomas Johnson b. 9 Oct 1875 d. 25 Feb 1919 I found my GGrandfather's grave site at Salem Cemetery which is located just west of Pavo, GA on SR 122. He was in the "Woodsmen of the World" fraternal order and his grave marker is shaped like a tree with the order's seal on it. See the photos below. |

| Above - This photo was taken looking southwest. In the background marked with a green box is the grave marker of Yancey Thomas Johnson. In the foreground marked by a green box are the markers of George Newton Marable and to his left, his son George Thomas Marable. George T. was in the Masonic Order. I now suspect that George N. may have also been in Freemasonry. | |||||||||||||||||

| To the right is Clara Anna Johnson's (Marable) grave marker. b. Feb 12, 1886 d. Jan 27, 1942. She is Buried in Oakhill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. I do not know why she was not buried with her husband. Obviously she did not re-marry. It could possibly be that the family did not have the money to have her taken to Adel, GA to be buried next to Yancey. |
