Day Twenty-Six
Upper Mesa Falls Idaho
"Craters of the Moon" lava field in Idaho
Day 26 Wednesday, July 13th
We made it.  280 miles from Idaho to West Yellowstone, Montana.  It was a beautiful, sunny day.  Seems like this part of the country is experiencing a heat wave right now go figure.  Hey its better than rain.  We stayed on scenic byways again (the only way to travel as far as Im concerned).  We took Highway 21 back to 20 (did I mention that 20 actually runs from coast to coast?) with a little detour to 47 through the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls.  We rode through the Craters of the Moon lava fields in Idaho and stopped for a few shots.  I didnt realize that this part of the country at one time had so much volcanic activity; but it must have because so many of the amazing things that we have seen were formed as a result of that activity.

On we went to Idaho Falls and stopped at the Grand Teton Harley dealership.  Youll never believe what I got there . . .  a second set of paint identical to what is currently on my motorcycle!!!!  I am now the proud owner of 2 sets of limited edition, 100th anniversary Magenta paint jobs (numbers 198 and 170).  Now I can have a hot pink motorcycle forever!  Honey is just thrilled too.  (ha ha ha).

On we went again to see the Upper & Lower Mesa falls the pictures say it all.  Well almost all as we were snapping pictures of the Upper Falls a bald eagle swooped down from the cliffs and just over the water.  It was an absolutely awesome sight.  Justin tried in vain to get a picture of it.  The only picture is in our heads and will surely remain there forever.   Here we also encountered some wildlife.  Good thing that bear couldn't get all the way through the wall!

As we have been riding through Idaho I have noticed that all of the wildlife we have seen seems to have babies.  Weve seen a doe and her fawn; cattle and calves; horses and colts and so on.  We have decided that we should have a baby too.  Pick yourselves up off the ground and take a look at our baby.  Her name is Dyna.  We adopted her in San Francisco and she has been riding with me ever since.  Isnt she just adorable??

Flag field in Idaho Falls
While in Idaho Falls we came upon a field of flags.  It was quite moving.  The field was covered with the US flag and another that read:
FAMILY GOD  FREEDOM
FAITH                  PEACE
It was situated beside a Baptist church.  First time Ive ever seen anything like it.
