Day 3 Monday, June 20th
Only did 110 miles today. We slept in this morning and then had a leisurely lunch with Ronnie & Debbie at Los Amigos. Great peach margaritas, company and food. We loaded bikes up again and took off around 1:30 PM headed for the North Carolina/Tennessee border and the Tail of the Dragon. Thanks Ronnie & Debbie. Great to see you all again. Hopefully well get to pop in on our way back to Maryland at the end of July. |

We took Route 28 through Seneca National Forest which turned into Nantahala National Forest right around the Georgia border. We went from South Carolina to Georgia to North Carolina in about 30 minutes. |

Despite the fact that it rained for the better part of the day, riding through the national forests was absolutely beautiful. We stopped for the day in Franklin, NC. Travel time was very slow today and wet. We hope to hit the Tail of the Dragon early tomorrow and without any rain. Our room overlooks the Great Smoky Mountains at least weve got a beautiful view. |
