Day 7 Friday, June 24th
Long day today.  450 miles part of it a forced march for me.  At about 375 miles I decided I just could not go any further but my darling pressed me on so as not to have such a long day tomorrow.  Bless his heart (she says with a smirk).  Were in Big Spring, Texas now.  Happily this is not a dry town and were having beer and pizza in our hotel room while doing some laundry.  Big exciting Friday night for us!

Texas is long.  Texas is hot.  Highways with big trucks suck.  As evidenced by some of the pictures we were doing just about anything we could to hide from the sun.  For a while I thought I was traveling with some kind of bandit.  We were covered with sunscreen and both escaped sunburns but man was it hot on the road.  I guess the highlight of the day was the Fort Worth Harley dealership.  It was huge that probably goes without saying though since everything here in Texas is big.  It was also well air-conditioned and had a huge selection of cool shirts.  It was all I could do to pick out just 2.  There were also rocking chairs out front.  My kind of dealership.  We did happen upon a few things to take pictures of.  Im anxious to get to another more scenic area.  Hopefully that will happen by tomorrow.
