Only 43 miles today � but not incident free. Met up with some friends @ 3:30 to go to a party in Manassass, Va. Took 295 through DC and discovered it�s being re-paved. That really translates to far more pot holes than usual. I just happened to nail one and when I did the luggage on my bike nearly fell off. We stopped on what little shoulder we could find to fix it and learned that the straps that hold the bag on the bike had busted completely. The stiching came apart but we were able to rig the bag up long enough to get where we were going. Good thing the bag came with a lifetime guarantee! I�ll be getting a brand new one after the trip.
We made it to the party without further incident and had a wonderful time. I didn�t think to take pictures until the end of the night � but aren�t those always the best ones? As we were putting our gear away for the evening, the leather strap on Justin�s saddle bag broke. Bad juju with luggage today. But hey � if that�s as bad as it gets I�ll take it.
