Day 19  Wednesday, July 6th
We made it!!  Were officially on the left coast.  We made San Francisco at about 9:30 PM and what a journey.  We left Bishop, CA and took 395 to Route 120 West into Yosemite National Park.  Wow -- how magnificent Yosemite is!  Of all the parks weve visited so far this one was the most interesting I think.  The combination of temperatures, colors, landscape and scenery was just amazing.  There were gray, tan, green, brown and white mountains, small waterfalls just shooting out of the sides of the rocks, huge lakes with sand on the shores, ice capped mountains on one side and tree-covered mountains on the other, valleys of huge boulders and dying trees, patches of snow on the side of the road, wild flowers blooming everywhere including lilac that smelled heavenly, and when we got to the bottom of Yosemite Valley there was the largest waterfall I have ever seen up close.  We climbed over the rocks in the rapids to get some amazing shots of this.  I dont have the words to justly describe the magnificence of this park so I hope the pictures suffice.

We stayed on the 120 out of the park twisting and turning the whole way.  We stopped to gas up and met 2 crotch rocket guys from Maryland.  As we chatted with them we learned they were doing the Homebrew Tour coast to coast making our 19-day journey in just 3 days!  Suddenly my ass felt much better.  They told us they were averaging about 1050 a day.  I can hardly imagine.

Metro Man... you know the rest ;-}
We finally found the freeway and the wind.  I had been riding in just a t-shirt all day and that was fine until about 7:30 PM.  We came around a corner on the freeway and just about got blown off the bikes and decided it was time for leathers.  We pulled off the highway and began to put more clothes on and while we were doing that the wind actually blew my bike over!  I couldnt believe it.  We quickly picked it up and much to my delight discovered that the engine guard and the new fender tips I just put on saved my baby.  No dents on the tank or fenders and just the tiniest scratch on the chrome fender tip on the back.  Amazing.

We continued on our way and navigated through Oakland and San Francisco in the dark.  Were getting pretty good at that.  We made it safely to the hotel at Fishermens Wharf 335 miles later, grabbed some pizza and beer and packed it in for the night.

My bike is filthy
My nails are a mess and my hair tired of being tied back

No time to whine
Because that man of mine keeps saying cmon weve got bikes to pack
