Day Eleven
Other side of the border
Coming home to the best country in the world!
Day 11 Tuesday, June 28th
Another beautiful (hot) day.  We racked up another 220 miles.  We left Silver City, NM @ 9:00 this morning and headed for the Shakespeare Ghost Town via Route 90.  Nice little 2-lane winding through the mountains and then the desert.  Not much traffic either just the way we like it.  We actually found the ghost town (after traveling down a dirt road for a few miles) but much to our dismay we discovered it was not open for visiting.  Although this place is listed on all the maps as a place to go see, you do not find out until youre at the gate that tours are only given the 2nd Sunday of each month!  What a drag.  So we stopped at a diner to cool off and grab some breakfast and then off towards Tombstone, AZ.  We took a very quick little detour into Mexico so now this is an international trip.  Can you dig it?  We literally crossed the border into Mexico, took a few pictures and then came back into the USA.  We made our way to Tombstone and hung out there for a while.  It was very cool.  The main street still looks like it did when the shoot out went down at the OK Coral.  We spent a few hours checking things out and shopping then headed to Ft. Huachuca to have dinner with our dear friend and former Md. Member, Turtle.  We had a good time catching up with him and although its tempting to keep him Jake Im gonna let you keep him.

Thats all for today time to catch some sleep and make ready for the trip to Flagstaff, AZ tomorrow.
