Day Eight
We took off this morning the temperature still fair
The sun on our backs -  the wind in our hair

We rolled down Route 30 then 20 then 10
Detoured through the mountains and caught 10 again

West Texas was full of oil fields and flat
No pictures worth taking - we didnt like that

We stopped for lunch and had great Mexican food
Then off to the mountains in quite a good mood

The air began to get heavy but our spirits stayed light
The scenery was breath taking and all else was right

We took lots of pictures the rest of the way
We parked in Las Cruces and ended our day
Day 8 Saturday, June 25th
Its the end of week one and were setting up camp tonight in the Land of Enchantment.  Weve made it all the way to Las Cruces, New Mexico.   I didnt think wed be this far so soon.  Its probably a good thing given the number of miles we still have to go and the number of stops we plan to make.  Today was better than yesterday if you factor in weather and scenery.  We clocked another 440 miles.  Southwestern Texas has a much better view than west Texas did.
