Day Thirty-Eight
Joplin MO. H-D, on old Route 66 Day 38 Monday, July 25th
Good and early for sure!  We were actually on the road at 8:30 this morning.  Yes I was awake.  We rolled for about 375 miles today from Kansas, into Missouri and then to Arkansas.  We traveled on historic Route 66 for a little while through Joplin, MO.  We stopped at the dealer there and did a little shopping (surprise) and then headed to Clinton, AK to visit Fish and Boo Boo again.  This time we got to travel through the mountains in the daylight.  It was much better than the last time (rolling through the mountains in the dark totally lost).  The Ozarks are beautiful and full of trees providing a slight break from the heat (it was still 103).  Miraculously we made it to our friends house before the sun went down just barely too because my darling thought he knew where he was going and we spent an hour going up and down the same road trying to find the one we were supposed to turn onto.  Fish came to the rescue and led us to the house which is now across the street from where it used to be.  Same old Fish moving his house across the street.  We had a wonderful time visiting with Fish and Boo Boo and stayed up late again just talking.  Thanks to both of you again for your hospitality and more than that for your friendship.  We love you guys!

Nice place to visit... but you wouldn't want to live here.
