I�ve written a little ditty that just about sums up our adventurous day today. Hope you enjoy it.
101 miles we went � that doesn�t seem too far
But we did on our motorcycles what most only do in a car
We left the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs
And headed for the top of the peak to get a grand look at things
Oh! What a view it turned out to be as we ascended to the top
There were no guard rails and much road was unpaved but we were determined not to stop
Up, up, up we went as if riding right into the sky
We reached the summit and struggled for breath � we�d never been so high
Perched upon the mountain top � the view taking our breath away
We checked out all you could see from the top and planned the rest of our day
In we went to the restaurant to grab a bite to eat
We fought the crowd from the cog train and finally got a seat
We ate our lunch and drank lots of water to prepare for the ride back down
19 miles in second gear � but neither of us could frown
Down, down, down we went � twisting all the way
What a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a beautiful Colorado day
Off we went to Cripple Creek to give away our monies
We both lost but we didn�t care �cuz we still got to sleep with our Honeys
JDawg got knocked out of the tournie by a bitchin� Queen
And Bounci gave all her money to the cool Clint Eastwood machine
All in all it was just a wonderful day. I never thought I�d ride a motorcycle to the top of Pike�s Peak and live to tell about it. Fabulous � absolutely fabulous!
