Jonathan Davis Asylum Got Issues?

[Most of this part of Jonathan's asylum is full of my opinions and things of Korn, anyone is welcome to put
thier own thing here, email them to me and if they make sense, I'll put them up.]

[ Jonathan Chat Events ]
The following is basically part of a thread on the korn.com message board created by a guy that was
less than pleased with Jonathans contribution to the chats.
As always, my username is broken soul.

Roach- Does anyone else think Jon's answers..uh...kind of suck?

[dC] 21: From: AllShadowyLined Question: How do you feel about the strong emphasis our society places on appearance
above all else? Do you see hope of that view changing in the music business?

jd 19: i think its fucked up its all about apperance and not about talent

stoogend-i was thinking the same thing when i read the chats.......lame

stillxbreathing-Dunno, from the scripts I've seen, it seriously makes me wonder if it's actually him.

formula-I agree some of the answers are kinda lame, however most of the questions
are so fucking retarded it makes me feel ashamed to be apart of it.
For instance: the question "How do you feel about the strong emphasis our society places on appearance above all else?
Do you see hope of that view changing in the music business?" is a retarded fucking question.
Its not not nearly the most retarded but it still has a retard element.

First off, everyone knows the answer to the question, esp. if asked to Jonathan Davis.
Did you actually think he was going to say "I think its great that society judges everyone by appearence." I doubt it.

The follow up question is the same kind as the first question. For anyone that isn't as materialistc
as [insert your favorite "bling bling" rapper here] will Know the answer.

Who ever asked this question im not trying to put down becuase they are way ahead of most
KK questions, but hey what do I know...none of my questions ever get through.

[broken soul]-you have to keep in mind that its run by a very strict schedule.
Jonathan can only give short answers so other people can get thier questions asked.

kornmaniac- exactly

fullofsorrow-suck? um...no...his answers dont suck but this thread does...lol

l sour lemon pie- I think Mir's question was pretty good, but his answer , yeah, it wasn't so......
Anyway, i think this:
boring questions= boring answers.

user friendly -
Why wouldn't it be Jonathan..it's just some stupid internet chatroom and I dont think it's
that much big of a deal to say stuff like "no no that can't be jd,why would he come here?"
It's not like he's god,he's a person too..it's not that hard to believe.

full of sorrow- hehe i loved what jd said when he was asked about this....
his reply: 'fuck em'
lmao
honestly tho i truly believe that its really him...the admin of this board and the wizards from palace
would not let false accusations go thru and neither would jd...so therefore....its real ppl....

[broken soul]- i think everyones expecting way too much of him..
people need to stop thinking he's going to have a full and riviting coversation with them,
and just appreciate the fact he's here every friday to do it. what other big name musicians actually do that for thier fans?

in addition, i have to thank him for putting up with us. would you like to be told you have
to be in an internet chat room at a certain time every Friday to awnswer repeated and lame
questions from some snot nosed, pimply, sweaty awkward teenagers ?

think about it, the mans as busy as hell, he even said he was starting filming another movie tomorrow,
and guitar parts arent even done on the new album, yet still hes taking the time to tolerate our crap.

its unfair that everyone is expecting all this of him, when hes doing a damn good thing right now.

ummmyep, thats all i have to say.

korny~fuker-Well said

[broken soul]- not well enough, though. you know next week, him and all the KK Gods and Wizards
will bust a gut for us again, only to be bitched at later.

[Alone I break]
[Part of me is very, very, very angry about the seemingly pathetic rules surrounding this fan
competition. ( If you didn't know, Korn have decided to do a competition to allow fans to design the
video for Alone I Break. The lucky winner would be the director for this video, and walk away with a
whole lot of money.)
However, after spending some time on the korn.com forum message board, these rules seem justified.
(huge thanks to [Sour Lemon Pie] for her chunks of wisdom surrounding this issue.)

Ive decided to show my opinions on this by writing down the rule, and then showing peoples
opinions of the rules and then finally ending with a balanced and fair justification of this.
Here you go.]

[Rule number One- Entrants must be United States Residents].

[Sarcasm]- "Typical Americans. Korn obviously think that they have no fans in Europe, when
in fact that they are more popular there then in America! If it wasnt for Europe, Korn would have
sunk a long time ago. What did Jonathan Davis say in the Kerrang! (popular UK rock music magazine)
Legends Korn edition? Some bullshit like- " We havent forgotten about you at all." Yeah right! Everyone
knows that Korn hate touring Europe. Now they are just brushing us under the mat while they embrace America.
Why is it that they have to be American citizens? I have many good ideas for that thing but they wont
let me enter cause of what country I'm in? Do they really think that makes my ideas less good then
those? its nothing but rasism. "-[ bRoKeN on the Kornweb.com chat room.]

[Justification]- Remember, MTV America are hosting this competition. The Issues cover comp was
only open to US residents too, and believe me, its for a good reason. MTV are planning to televise
this competition for a new reality show in America. (A little bit like the Osbournes only not quite
as annoying) and they had to have all thier entrys in for a certain time. they dont want late entries
flowing in from places all around the world...think about it. how long would it take for entries to be
shipped to the US? Also, MTV dont want to bring a person from the UK or another country to America.
It wouldnt be cost effective.

[Rule Number two- Entrants must be 21 years old or over.]
[Sarcasm]- " Thats totally wrong. Most of Korns fans are under 21 and they shun us all
like this to do with MTV? thats the basis of selling out. I had a good idea, but now I cant
cause Im a year under the age limit. That sucks. Thanks, Korn." - [my gift to you, Kornweb.com chat]

[Justification]- MTV cannot be held responsable for an underage child working for them.
Its against the law. MTV and Korn cannot rely on a child to meet the constant demands of a director
on a set for a video. Also, cast your mind back to the 1999 Issues Cover Contest. Korn recieved
pieces of "art" that were terrible, cause they were drawn by little kids. It may hurt, but Korn have
to have a quality video. They put a lot of work into Alone I Break,as they have with all of the
Untouchables album, and believe it or not, to people that aren't korn fans, the video makes the song.
Korn dont want to turn down prospective fans by having a bad video, and believe me, Alone I Break
deserves a good video.
[Rule Number Three- Applicants must have media qualifications and/or a background in the moving
image media]
[Sarcasm]- " You dont need grades to do something for your band. Thats pathetic, and pointless."
- [Vacant Smirk, Kornweb.com chat]

[Justification]- You do, actually. A director has to know media abbreviations,
and have an idea of what they are actually doing on the set. The directors job is to direct
(duh) and that means ordering a band around, a camera crew, lights, actors, and everything.
If someone has no idea what the hell they are doing, or how to work
the machinery that edits the video, then theres no point of them being there. All that would come out
of it is
a) a pissed off band
b) a pissed off camera crew
c) a pissed off director wannabe
d) a pissed off set of managers
e) very very very pissed off fans when alone i break comes out and it looks like shit.
every single fan watching at home is going to be saying " i could have done a better job then that."
The winner is not going to be led by hand through this, and believe me, directing a video is a
very hard job to do. unlike the Issues competition, wannabes do not simply send in a piece of paper.
