JC and the guys did TRL and he managed to make his way through the 90 minutes
even though he was still trying to figure Kelci out. One fan asked about
their relationship and he bravely stated that he was in love with Kelci
before Justin re-directed the attention to their new album.

After TRL, all reconvened for dinner where Lance and Rachel announced their
new development and asked for everyone to keep it quiet. Kelci seemed to
handle Lance well, but kept everyone at arms length. She wasn't cold to JC,
but did resist when he tried to nuzzle her neck. Even Rachel noticed this and
shot JC a questioning look. He shrugged as he rubbed Kelci's bicep lovingly.

"I need to leave tomorrow morning," Kelci informed from her position between
JC and Rachel.

"Why?"

"I need to be in LA for a Raider meeting and get my work-out regime. I'll be
there most of the week."

"I thought you were coming to Orlando," JC questioned, hurt that she wouldn't
be with him.

"I never said that. I said I'd come see you."

"Baby...what's going on?"

"Nothing. Don't worry, you'll get your piece," she said through a fake smile,
but her eyes were almost frozen.

There wasn't a chance for JC to talk to her before they were rushed to
Letterman and she was sleep when he returned to the hotel room. When he woke
the next morning, she was already gone. He wanted to chase after her, but he
couldn't. His flight to Orlando left at 2 p.m. and rehearsals started the
next day, so he opted for a phone call.

"Hi. I can't talk. Here comes the beep," Kelci's voice stated.

"Hi, baby. I woke up and you were gone. I wish we could have had at least a
few minutes together this morning. I don't like how things seemed last night.
Did I hurt you? Scare you? I'd apologize, but I don't know what I
did...please call me today. I need to hear your voice and know we're OK...I
guess that's it for now. Please call, baby. OK, I...I love you, C. Please
know that."

He left his cell phone on until the plane was on the run way, but she didn't
call. Even Rachel didn't know what was going on, but she offered to call
Kelci when they landed. JC thanked her and smiled at Lance's hand on her
tummy. He settled into his seat and fell into a restless sleep. As soon as
they were on the ground, JC checked his voice mail and had a message from
Kelci.

"Hi, Josh. Sorry I didn't wake you this morning. You just looked so sweet and
peaceful. I didn't want to disturb you and you even got a good smooch. You do
that well, even in your sleep...As for last night....I'm not real sure why,
but I got scared and angry thinking you only want sex. I just...I don't know,
baby. I'm sorry I scared you...I need to head out for a while but I'll try to
get you tonight. Hope you have a safe flight. Mwah!"

"Did she call?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah. She left a message," JC smiled then jumped when his phone rang in his
hand. "Hello?"

"Hiya handsome! How was your flight?"

"It was good. How are you?"

"I'm good. So...uh...how would you like to date a blonde?" she asked in a
sing song voice.

"Baby, you are all that I want."

"I know, silly, but the idea of me going blonde was tossed out on my voice
mail. What do you think?"

"Well...I think it would look OK...How blonde?"

"I'm not sure yet, but they want a more exotic look for their Southern
bell....to make my eyes more intense and stuff."

"Well...lighter hair could do that," JC agreed as the group was ushered out
to the vans, their luggage to be delivered later. "When will you dye it?"

"Beginning of August, I think."

"I could ask the tour hair girls. They would know better than me."

"Do you think they would mind?"

"Probably not since the two of them are always looking for things to do
during the day."

"Will it piss anyone off?" she asked.

"Who cares. If it does, he'll get over it."

"Well...you enjoy your last night before Hell....um...I heard Joey say that
you guys are dancing for the next two weeks then you get 5 days off before 10
more hard days. Is that right?"

"That's the plan. It's like a reprieve before months trapped on a bus."

"Do you have plans for those 5 days?" she hinted and he could hear her smile.

"No."

"Can I treat you to a getaway?"

"I'd love that."

"Good. So...April 24-29th you are mine."

"Yes, just tell me what to pack," he purred as he stared out the window as
the rain formed puddles on the ground.

"Summery clothes and sunglasses...maybe some sun tan lotion."

"Sounds like paradise. I'll pack my passport, too."

"OK. Now I need to go. I'm hoping to be in Orlando by Friday night, but I
have to wait and see about this fitness thing."

"Just let me know so I can ask Randy to come get you if I can't," JC offered.

"OK, handsome. Say hello to Mr. Pokey for me," she giggled and he chuckled.
"Bye, Joshy."

"Bye. Love you."
