Freeway Best Times: 1:50am - 3:30am (Fri, Sat, Sun) Crash Danger: Medium ========================================== >>This freeway can be seen as the main vein of L.A. It runs from the ports of Long Beach all the way to Downtown Los Angeles. It's also a "Hot Spot" for CHP weekday nights. I've seen people go upto 150mph on this freeway without any cops. But when you reach past 85mph the road gets very bumpy. Depending on your car's suspention this one is good for long fast runs. And this one links you to one of my other picks. Pasadena Freeway (110) Best Times: 1:50am - 4:00am (Mon - Sun) Crash Danger: High ========================================= >> From the harbor freeway we move to the Pasadena 110. This one is by far the best "Free Road Course" available in Los Angeles. There are a few others that have good turns and fast straights, but this one just makes you feel on the edge. This one is by far the most dangerous 2nd only to the Long Beach Freeway. The Pasadena runs from about 2 minutes away from Downtown L.A to Pasadena itself. The freeway ends on a street. The Good part starts after you pass the 2 tunnels that go under the Hollywood Mountains. About half a mile or less after the tunnels the freeway drops (bumpy) and thats where the fun starts. Now I must warn you about some corners. There is one corner where it starts normal but gets sharper, its better to go in at a lower speed and as soon as it starts getting sharper get on the gas more and more. The other corner is actualy a "Chicane" type of corner. It's a quick Left and right. Then there is the "Dark Part" which is actually a long straight before the end that almost has no lights. One big warning, the road is very bumpy at some parts. And at some parts you can reach about 110mph. But please be carefull. By the way a cop told me this "We dont do shit because if they die, they die, its illegal to run there cuz of the dangers so its on them". 105 Freeway Best Times: 2:30am - 5:00am (Sat, Sun) Crash Danger: Medium ============================================ >> This one is quite fun. This freeway can actually be run from where it splits south to the 91 near Downey all the way to LAX. CHP is around most of the times but not as much as others. There is this one part (coming from the east) before it splits to the Long Beach Freeway that has this bump that will get your car airborn, you have been warned. When you reach the location near LAX, its mostly empty beside a few cars here and there and I have witnessed speeds here of over 190mph being run by a Porsche Carrera. This freeway is kinda new but very flat, straight and long. But again be warned of the bump. |
