There is actually a quite large selection of hotels in town, but since the reception is at a hotel (The Quality Inn) we have a special rate set for the rooms there. You can get a double twin/queen or a single king with one to two adults (kids are free) for $49.99 plus tax. Dont make the reservation through their website or through any other site because you wont get the same rate, call them directly at (940) 665-8800 and say that Charles quoted that rate or that its the special rate for the Bilbrey wedding guests.
If the Quality Inn doesn't sound good, I would not recomend the Super 8, I used to work there and they do not clean their rooms properly. Also the Hampton Inn has failed three health inspections for their guest rooms, so I wouldn't sleep there either. I haven't heard anything good or bad about the Days Inn and the Comfort Suites and Holiday Inn are the nicest, but most expensive with rates generally $80 and up.
hahahahahahaa... that was funny. Sorry, but in Gainesville there is really NOTHING to do. You've got the park, the zoo and well...thats about it. You can take a 15 minute trip up to Winstar Casino in Oklahoma and see where we met and gamble some money away, but its not that great. For some drinking, there is a cute little bar called Hubcaps that is on the frontage road a couple of minutes north of the reception site. They have a great atmosphere, friendly staff and pool tables.
The best resturant in the area, (if not all of North Texas) if you like 'country cooking' is Babe's in Sanger (just outside of Gainesville). They have the best chicken and sides and the set up is quaint and cute. For Mexican, I would have to reccomend Los Mariachis. They have great chimichangas! As far as burgers go, there are so many fast food joints, you can take your pick - but Burgers 'N More is great if you want to go sit at a cute and quaint diner. Right next to the reception hotel site there is a Taco Bell, Braums, Wendy's, Arby's, Sonic, McDonald's, Starbucks and Taco Casa.
As most of you know, Cooke County was hit by a massive flood on June 18th and since its pretty much kept raining, nearly on a daily basis. Luckily, all of the key wedding sites were not effected by the flood waters. However a lot of other area homes and businesses were hit HARD and are still trying to recover from the damage.
