11:37 PM - Wedding Update

So, more news on the wedding front. We've booked an amazing photographer. I am so excited. He uses the photojournalistic style of photography which is the style I love. He mixes that with traditional posed portraits, which is a great mix so that you get all the pictures that you need to capture the entire day. As soon as his new website is up and running I'll post the link so that you all can see his excellent work. This was THE most important part of the wedding to do list for me, and I was so worried because the selection of photographers in our area BLOWS ASS. Plus, they want to charge OUT THE ASS for shitty work. So, I am getting an amazing photographer for less than what the shitty people charge, plus the package is huge and eleminates the need for a videographer. All we'll have to do is set up a couple of our cameras at the ceremony site and maybe one later on at the reception to catch some drunk fools dancing. lol! Now we gotta find some tripods.

Secondly in our wedding news is that we've got our reception hall booked. Not a biggie, but we do need a place to parrty once the I Do's have been said. I haven't been there yet, but family members have attended functions there and have described it to me. It is like a block from the ceremony site and was cheap, so no complaints here. Hopefully we can arrange to go see it and take some pictures next week.

Lastly, I've made a small wedding website for our special day. Basically it is a place for everyone involved to get the news, check dates, event info, addresses, etc and for me to keep project ideas in one spot so that me and mom can coordinate on the decorating stuff. Since she's making the wedding cake, the grooms cake, all the flowers (I'm talking boquets, boutineers, coursages, sprays, arrangements, EVERYTHING), the ring pillow and helping me embelish the cake serving set and toasting glasses - we need a place to keep all of the originals we are copying so we can check back and fourth as needed. Right now, its still missing a lot, but the basic shell is up. If anyone wants to check that out, message me and I'll give you the address. I dont want certain *people* to get the event details that dont need to be coming to the wedding. I'm pretty sure everyone knows who we are talking about.

Oh, and I am also happy to report that I am an awesome bargain finder. I found this idea where you swag christmas lights (white cords) from the ceiling (at the reception site) and hang paper lanters here and there. Well, I thought it was just too cool so I started looking for paper lanterns, first I was seeing $3 each. Then I found a place where you could get 8" plain white for as low as $1.35 each and I thought that was okay. Well, one last stop lead me to 10" red and orange ones for .33 cents each! I was like, hell yeah! Now, I can get them in the wedding colors and get as many as I want. Sorry, but that gave me a happy. I think it will tie the colors in nicely. We got brown table cloths on clearance this past fall and then on the ceiling, the red and orange will be carried over with all the fall colored flowers, pumpkins and gourds on the tables-I think it will come out great!

Anyways, still an excited Bride-to-Be here. Everything is running smoothly, I'll let you know when things start getting stressful for me though. But I have to say that I really havent run into any snags. I am finding everything cheaper than what I expected. It looks like we'll be able to keep our tiny budget in check. Woo-hoo! The chair rentals for the ceremony were even half of what I expected. They'll be black, but that doesn't really matter when your doing a fall wedding and using a lot of chocolate browns.

Okay, shutting up now. I'll report more as things progress.

Loves to all, Jess

I also posted a blog asking help from anyone who know any good dance music because Casey and I only listen to rock and there aren't that many that you can get down and shake your bootie to. So, anyone who reads this blog, you can also help by sending me a list of good 'shake-your-rump' music. I'd appreciate it.

The only other news to report is that I am still finding great bargains. Hobby Lobby posts 40% off one regular priced item coupons on their website every now and then and last week we printed off a couple and went this past weekend. So we got 50 champange flutes for under $6 (saved us about $20 from the place I was originally going to buy them from) and we got like $18 off of a 3pc cake pan set.

Sorry for the trivial ranting about getting things for cheap, but hey, its an accomplishment I am proud of! We've got a kid to raise, we need to save money where ever possible.

Oh, and on the engagement front, there still hasn't been an 'OFFICIAL' proposal. Still waiting. Hopefully it'll happen soon. I feel kinda funny shopping and buying for a wedding that isn't officially going to happen. But hell, he's right there with me doing all the shopping and buying. So I guess I shouldn't feel too weird.

Anyways, I better get myself off to bed, I've gotta be up bright and early to get ready to go see the reception hall we booked. I am excited! It's the first time I'll be seeing it. I'll be taking pics and will post them on the reception page soon.

Good night, Jess
