YOU MUST READ THESE TERMS COMPLETELY AND SIGN THAT YOU AGREE TO THEM ON THE REGISTRATION APPLICATION IN ORDER TO ENTER ARTWORK IN SHOW!
I. Applying To The Show
A.WHO IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN SHOW:
Any college, local, or other artists otherwise invited by the JCU SIFE Team.
B.DEADLINES:
The deadline for this event is February 20th, 2002.
C.APPLICATION REQUIRES:
Written descriptions for all merchandise, product categories to be displayed and sold should be defined on the application (or slides if available). It is not necessary to show or list different sizes of identical products. However, if slides are used, please identify products that differ according to photo references. Other than a written description, the acceptable visual reference materials include slides, photgraphs, video or catalogue.
Also, a sketch (or photo) with a thorough description of the overall size and materials for both the booth and its signage is required. Booths or displays must remain in show for the entire length of the show.
Along with the description, artisans must provide an estimated price for each piece of merchandise in the application.
II. Merchandise
A.Restrictions:
All items must be handcrafted by the applying artisan and/or other studio personnel. No imported, pre-bought or kit merchandise is permitted.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IS PREMITTED INSIDE THE ART SHOW ROOMS. HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE A DRINK AND SNACK BAR AVAILABLE IN THE STUDENT CENTER.
ALSO, all artists need to send in a photocopy of proof of insurance in along with the appliaction.
B.Booth:
Electric is not available. Although battery operated lighting is welcome as long as it is within the provided booth space. Artisan must provide his or her own table cover. IT IS MANDATORY THAT THERE IS A TABLE COVER ON EACH TABLE IN ORDER TO HIDE ANYTHING UNDER THE TABLE.
A single "booth" at a price of $5 holds one table (1.5 ft. x 5.5 ft.) and two chairs. If more than one table or more than two chairs are needed, individual artisans may request so on application form (an additional booth is $8).
There can be no mounting of paintings or any artwork on the walls during the art show. Therefore, artists need to supply easels or necessary objects to hold artwork. However, if artisan does bring such objects, the size of object (ie. easel) and number of objects need to be described in the application under "ALL MERCHANDISE TO BE SOLD" section or on separate sheet of paper.
C. Selling:
All items submitted into the show must have price tags or stickers on them. The only exceptions would be any clothes that are being shown in the fashion show. Individual artisans may price items as he or she wishes.
D. ARTWORK:
Showholders have the right to turn away any artwork that is unappropriate for a Jesuit atmosphere on the day of the event. If any there are any questions about a specific piece of work, please send inquiry to [email protected].

IV. PARKING:
Artisans may park in the John Carroll Parking lot. You will be directed to the far lot by the Grasseli Library. It may be helpful if you have someone drop you off at the Student Center with your artwork so that you do not have to carry it across campus. However, no cars will be permitted to be parked or running along the entrance to the building other than for dropping off merchandise. There will be JCU SIFE students on hand who may be available to help with this process. Although, ultimately you are responsible for your own work during this setup time. There is avialable parking for the public who will be attending the show as well. These cars will be directed to that designated parking on the day of the event.
V. SETUP:
The setup times for artists will be from 8am to 10:30am on Saturday, March 16th. Please show up at 8am sharp so that there will be enough time for you to setup. Our SIFE Team will be available during this setup time if there are any problems, questions, or concerns. Anything other than your artwork must be stored under your table or in your vehicle. There will also be a Round Table Discussion held that morning from 9-10:30 am for any artists who are interested. For those who do want to particapte in the Round Table Discussion, your setup time will be from 8-9am and then artists will proceed into the Round Table Discussion that is also going to be held in the Student Center. VII. COST:
College Artisans:$15.00/artist registration and $5.00 for 1 table and 2 chairs.
Local Artisans:$25.00/artist registration and $5.00 for 1 table and 2 chairs.
VIII. Agreements:
A.Showholders to Individual Artisans: On Saturday, March, 16th, 2002 showholders agree to hold the Soul Expressions Art Show. Showholders agree to have a booth (with table and chairs if needed) upon the approval of your registration. Showholders agree to hold a Round Table Discussion from 9am-10:30 on Saturday, March 16th, 2002 that will go over the importance of the art genre in Cleveland and it's impact on the economy of Cleveland. All artisans and public are welcome to this event. However, artists must be completely setup in order to attend.
Showholders hold the right to accept and/or reject any artwork. Showholders will accept all possible artwork before the deadline as long as there is room. Artwork must also be tasteful for public display.
John Carroll University, it's trustees, employees, students, volunteers, and organizations (including the John Carroll SIFE Team) assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the loss, theft, damage or destruction to any artwork brought on to the JCU permises for the Soul Expressions Art Show.
We have the right to cancel at any time if there is an emergency or problem with the facilities at John Carroll University, artisans will not be refunded if this emergency occurs.
We agree to help advertise for this event through flyers, media, and through our contacts as a University. However, we are not responsible for the sale of your artwork.
Artisans to Showholders:
I agree to show up on March 16th, 2002 to the Soul Expressions Art Show at John Carroll University. I agree to bring the artwork that I supplied discriptions of on the day of the event and no more unless approved by Tiffany Bell, Director of the Soul Expressions Art Gallery (email: [email protected]).
I agree to handle all of my own transactions throughout the day of the show.
I agree to sell my artwork and respect the price of the item that is posted. I will not change the prices during the day of the event. I agree that all of the artwork I am displaying is my own work or the work of my studio personnel.
I agree to follow all of the directions listed in this application and throughout these terms that are addressed and I agree to work in accordance with the members of the John Carroll University SIFE team on the day of the event.
I, agree that John Carroll University, it's trustees, employees, students, volunteers, and organizations (including the John Carroll SIFE Team) assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the loss, theft, damage or destruction to any artwork brought on to the JCU permises for the Soul Expressions Art Show.
