| Project Profile The All Aboard Titanic project allows students the opportunity to research a historical event from the viewpoint of eyewitnesses. A small group of students will pick a member of the Titanic crew and a passenger. They will then conduct research to obtain as much information as possible concerning why each person was on the Titanic, etc. They will use the internet sites shown here and any other materials available. Once the research is complete, students will organize and present the information in a creative way to parents and peers. ****************************** Learning Objectives The student will be able to: 1. Use the internet to locate information useful in researching their topic. 2. Put information gathered into an organized and usable form. 3. Express the information gathered orally to an audience. 4. Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information while researching. 5. This project will be done in cooperative groups. There are twenty students and five computers in the classroom. The students will be in groups of four. Each group will assign roles for each member to play both during the research stage and presentation stage of the project. I will become the monitor and facilitator, moving between the groups giving whatever support is needed. |
