Fruit Cobbler

Cake:
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 blob butter (size of an egg)
  • 1 C flour (scant)
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t ground cloves
Fruit:
  • 2 1/2 C fruit (apples, peaches, cherries, etc.)
  • 3/4 C sugar
  • 2 T butter
Preheat oven to 350� .
Heat fruit, sugar and butter in pan. Do not boil it. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and cloves into a medium size bowl. Add milk mixing til lumps are gone. Don't over do it. Pour fruit mixture into a small square pan. Pour batter over the top of the fruit. Dot bits of butter all over the top of the batter. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.
