Training from Afar

Introduction:

JunCTions was created with a vision: To propose to young racing drivers engaged in different open-wheel auto racing championships a complete training and coaching program which would prepare them to become competitive first in the USA and later world wide. (I come from Europe where everything is harder to conquer for a young race car driver)

The objective is the very top of the ladder: Formula 1 and its state of preparation and readiness.

Meanwhile, we all know for living here that the North American territory is stretched on 3 time zones, and from Montreal to San Diego or from Vancouver to Miami, the distances must be close or superior to 4,000 miles.

Even at the age of air transportation, I realize, as a Personal Trainer – Coach – Mentor for race car drivers that distance, time zone, and jet lag can be a problem for racers after a few months, and fatigue can take place when distances become a negative factor in the racing preparation process.

Also, even if for an open wheel race car driver the cost of a complete training season with JunCTions would represent only a fraction of the entire budget invested in an open wheel racing season, from FF2000 to Champ Car Atlantic, I know that the added financial aspect of a one-on-one direct training can deter more than one young champion in the field of racing from partnering with a personal trainer – coach – mentor.

It is why I propose the Global Preparation Process – GP2 – in a package named:

Training From Afar

What does the package include?

First… 2 days of work as a first contact during which we establish your racing profile, and dedicate this time of intense work determining what will be the starting situation of your Global Preparation Process Training.

During these 2 days you will also be tested physically, mentally, and we will study your nutrition program and your nutritional profile.

Be ready for 2 days of intense work, testing, and research when starting your Training From Afar GP2 program.

From there we will create the first step of a specifically designed training based on:

  • your choice of open wheel championship you will race in this year,
  • your past performance,
  • your goal for the near and far future,
  • your daily life style and professional activity (from student to full time racer),
  • your actual strength and weaknesses,
  • your actual physical, mental, and nutritional situation,
  • all what indeed constitute your daily environment.

Thus…

We will define what will be the professional relationship between us during the racing season, from the global approach to the very detailed aspect of our communication using all useful tools available to us.

After that …

  • you will proceed with the training program,
  • you will report your daily activities on specific report sheet,
  • we will communicate on a regular basis, in a structured and organized way,

  • We will meet at pre-determined dates – preferably once a month.
  • You will be tested at all levels
  • Your progression will be calculated, and …
  • The entire training program will be evaluated, modified, adapted, and reinforced depending on your results in the tests completed.

What does it take to select the Training From Afar program?

From experience, I would write that it takes a very determined individual, organized, structured, and willing to perform at his/her best, or willing to challenge him/herself in these fields of life.

A person who wants to compete professionally in the open wheel car racing world but who does have a budget quite “restricted” than other drivers who can afford a full time trainer-coach, can decide to chose the Training From Afar program.

It also takes someone who knows him/herself pretty well, is willing to listen and apply to the spirit and the letter what is commonly determined and someone who knows where his/her ego is placed and when this part of his/her personality needs to be out-front – indeed during the races – and when it needs to be put “under the surface” when it is time to train in a planned, organized, and structured way.

Reminder…

In open wheel car racing, more than in any other car racing categories PREPARATION IS EVERYTHING!

Talent is here as a gift, a starter. But only work, personal involvement, full dedication, determination, willingness to do again and again the repetitive movements, and developing physical and mental flexibility in all aspect of his/her life will lead the open wheel race car driver to be at his/her best and perform at the top level with consistency.

As always…..                            WINNING IS THE KEY!

Everything else is excuse, period!

ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?
