JunCTions was created with a vision in mind: To propose to young racing drivers, engaged in auto racing, a complete training and coaching program which would prepare them to become competitive racers, first in the USA and later worldwide.

The very top of the ladder is the objective; and Formula 1 state of preparation and readiness is the target. GP2 is the name given to the concept I created for this specific preparation.

GP2 stands for GLOBAL PROPERATION PROCESS.

Who is behind JunCTions?

My name is Jean-Claude Travers

Born inParis, France, I came to the U.S.A. in 1998 to live my dream to the fullest: Training / Coaching individuals engaged in motor sport racing and interested in making the best of who they are, with the use of their physical, psychological, and spiritual power.

Creating an entire new life in California, notably learning and mastering the English language, took me a few years.

This being completed, I created JunCTions in 2002 as individual coach for business CEO and competitors in running and fitness. The car racing world was my goal and the complete immersion into the world of U.S. car racing started in January, 2004.

JunCTions is based in Northern California in the town of Sonoma where Infineon Raceway (previously known as Sears Point) and the Jim Russell Racing School are located.

Let us know each other a little better...

Who am I? A few marks in a long professional experience...

  • 25 year of team management and individual coaching (CEO, top & middle management) in international and mid-sized companies
  • 20 years of research, study, and experience in self-awareness (breathing, meditation, mind-body connection, etc...)
  • 2 years of bicycle racing in France as a teenager (one of Paris Bicycle Club)
  • Regional Motorcycle racing for 2 years with a TZ 250 cc factory Yamaha
  • Long distance runner since the age of 15
  • Coach of 2 motorcycle racers engaged in the 250cc French Championship in 1994-1995
  • A full year as a student in a Mechanic program at the Jim Russell Racing School - 2004
  • Training, Coaching, Mentoring young racing drivers engaged in different open wheel series championships** since 2004.

(** = SCCA JRRS Championship, Pro Mazda, FF2000, Formula BMW USA, Koni Challenge GS)

The result are: 4 drivers coached, trained, mentored during the last 3 years and ...

15 pole positions 13 victories

28 podiums

32 top 5 finishes 1 championship

What makes JunCTions different and so unique?

As a trainer and coach, I continue to train as much as the Race Car Drivers I partner with do.

I am active with them, part of their training when necessary, either bicycling, running, swimming, weight lifting, aerobic training, creating specific exercises, etc... indeed implicated physically and psychologically in all aspects of their preparation. I am certainly not a "standing-by-and-wait" type of individual.

I believe in what I see. If a driver says that he can run 8 or 10 miles in one hour, we will do it together. I constantly check what is said to me with concrete action and a stop watch, and what is said need to be applied.

I have been learning the human nature, and I am confident that the "work-in-progress" with the racing drivers is a partnership, both sides bringing to the field of the Global Preparation Process - GP2 - their strength, qualities, specificities that result in the creation of a better environment for training and racing, added with faster and better results.

Winning is the goal!

At JunCTions, because I learned the different aspects of the human body, I connect together the physical and psychological aspects of the racing driver's life and bring him/her to develop the necessary qualities that will make him/her a winner, a fighter going for the lead and to the best of what he/she can produce.

I also learned what a race car is, from driving racing school car in a championship during the 2004 and 2005 racing season, taking two checker flags, to having maintained for a season 3 star Mazda open wheel cars, to having dismantle many cars for understanding and learning purpose, the last one being a Porsche GT3 cup car in early 2007, plus the fact that I have been doing since 20 years the maintenance on my own street cars, I possess the ability to talk the walk and to communicate with the drivers, the team engineer, the mechanics from concrete experience.

Finally, I continue to compete in races for athletes, from 5 mile race to 200 miles relays.
The Last victory was on September 24, 2006 in a 5 mile running race with an overall time below 30 minutes that translated in a 5'50'' pace to the mile (top finisher + top category 50-59).

1/2 Marathon distance run for training as riding 50 miles or a century -100 miles - in bicycle are as of today a norm of my own maintenance training as a coach/trainer/mentor.

I put my action where my words stand!

To the drivers, I say the following:

SAY WHAT YOU THINK! DO WHAT YOU SAY!
And REALLY DO IT NOW!

Periodically, they are reminded of what the real question for them to ask regarding their training, preparation, and racing is: "What do I want to do?" is not the question to ask!

The effective question for them to ask is:

What do I need to accomplish in order to reach my goal?

Racing is acting, dedicating oneself, focusing, delivering result, winning! Everything else is excuse!

You are passionate about racing and your racing career.

You see yourself competing at the highest levels of racing either being open wheel, ALMS, GT cars.

You feel and think that you will do whatever it takes to reach the very top level and to live your dream.

Let get started, and you will discover an entire new world, what at JunCTions we name GP2 which, as you already know, stands for Global Preparation Process.

Very Sincerely Yours;

Jean-Claude Travers
