"Marshall: 1847" --
The Story of the Crosswhite Case

A cassette tape telling the true story of an escaped slave family's adventure!

John Sherwood has done original research into the story of the Crosswhite family, who escaped from a Kentucky plantation in 1843 and were tracked down by slave-catchers more than three years later in Marshall, Michigan. Hundreds of Marshall residents prevented the slave-catchers from taking the slaves back to Kentucky. The incident and the trials that followed comprise one of the best-documented stories from the Underground Railroad.
