Sir Arthur C. Clarke's knighthood made
official
The ceremony officially investing Clarke as a knight of the
realm occurred Friday, May 26, 2000, The Associated Press has
reported. The event was at the home of the British ambassador to Sri Lanka.
The AP quoted Sir Arthur as saying "I feel like a lobster"
as he wore what was described by the AP as an "ash-colored suit and a blue tie on a hot, sultry morning. He flapped his arms and legs, pretending to be a lobster."
"I have every reason to be happy and, yes, I am very, very
happy," Sir Arthur told the AP.
