Here is what happens
when JE pistons really screws up...
The story behind this is one of the guys I know ordered this set of pistons
for his shelby 2.2. When he got them he took one out of the box and said
"oh thats cool" and took them right over to the machine shop which was machining
his engine for fit. The machine shop put the pins and clips and rods on and
gave him his block and every thing back for him to assemble. He just put
them in and the car ran well for ~3000 miles till Blammo... (look at pics
and read on)
As you can see this is one befuggled piston. He sent it back to JE and they
ADMITTED it was defective. ADMITTED!!!!! There wasn't enough material mear
the oil ring. Even better take a look at the Wrist pin holes...the bearing
surface isn't even all there!!! They would not give him any compensation
towards another rebuild. AND BETTER: They wouldn't even replace their own
piston!!!
They sang him some bullshit story on how they don't warranty their race parts,
and it should of been picked up on pre-assemly inspection. So this is my
boycott page to someone who should be put on a universal bad-guy list. Yeah
you might make nice products but bon't admit to a faulty product and not
at least give the man a new piston.
I personally would of got on the phone to the better business bureau and
lodged a complaint....but even that doesn't get you very far today.
So this page will sit in cyberspace (at least until I get a summons
which I will then post on here!) as a testament to BUYER BEWARE, CHECK YOUR
STUFF FROM J. E.. Don't trust anyone... cause you never know when some business
is going to poke you in the cornhole!!
